Jen-Hsun Huang and Lori Mills Huang Collaborative Innovation Complex

Harnessing one of the nation’s most powerful supercomputers, the $213 million complex — including two $50 million gifts to the OSU Foundation from alumni couple Jen-Hsun Huang and Lori Mills Huang and the Wayne and Gladys Valley Foundation — will increase OSU’s support for the semiconductor and technology industry in Oregon and beyond when it opens in 2026.

  

Collaborative Robotics and Intelligent Systems Institute (CoRIS)

A research institute to advance the theory, design, development and deployment of robots and intelligent systems able to interact seamlessly with people. OSU’s robotics program is recognized as one of the country’s best, where more than 25 faculty and 180 graduate students are engaged in cutting-edge robotics research and developing applications.

  

Transdisciplinary Research Seed Fund Program

The purpose of the 2025 Transdisciplinary Research Seed Fund (TRSF) Program is to support OSU faculty as they build a transdisciplinary research team or seek to sustain momentum of an existing team and/or plan to scale-up collaborative research efforts towards the submission of large proposals that directly support Prosperity Widely Shared: The Oregon State Plan (PWS). Faculty teams are expected to use the TRSF seed funds to advance new research and partnerships and develop submission-ready proposals by the end of the award period. Meet 2024-25 TRSF Awardees.

  

AgAID Institute

Funded by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture in partnership with the National Science Foundation, the AgAID Institute is a powerful coalition of technology firms (including IBM) and universities (including OSU, WSU, UC-Merced and UVa) that employs AI to tackle some of the most important and difficult problems facing farmers in agriculture today.

  

AI Institute for Collaborative Assistance and Responsive Interaction for Networked Groups

AI-CARING, is a National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research Institute with a mission to develop the next generation of personalized collaborative AI systems that improve the quality of life and independence of aging adults living at home. A collaboration between Georgia Tech, OSU and OHSU, the institute is funded by the National Science Foundation, with Amazon and Google as industry sponsors.

  

Research Advancement Academy

A professional development program for faculty from across OSU to develop research leadership skills. The goal of the Academy is to support faculty fellows to successfully lead large transdisciplinary proposals & funded research programs.
